Well …despite the fact I hate repetitive games with all my guts I really cannot explain what still holds me this franchise…the overall quality of the game …naaah…maybe because it makes me dream of how I would want it to be: free open , huge dynamic world in which the hunter to be immersed, survive,explore and offcourse hunt.If I was a game dev I would fkn destroy people's life with a game like this…:)…

I don't believe that Rise will beat World but it has been a great fucking run. For me, MH became literally better with each game which is basically impossible for such a long running franchise to pull off.

The first MH game I’ve ever played was the MH4U Demo when I was 10 and I didn’t play a monster hunter game after that until World in when I was 15. I got back into MH because a friend got me into the game Dauntless and eventually we decided to get World because it’s kind of the same concept, plus he was really into YT videos about World. I played World off and on throughout 2020 and eventually I just kinda stopped playing it, but now Rise is out so I’ve mostly been playing that.

My dad's first MH game was Tri, and he bought Generations for me once I was old enough so we could play Monster Hunter together, now we are farming crimson valstrax to get red serpent orbs (I got 3 before my dad even got 1, I guess I am just luckier)
I use insect glaive and he uses gunlance as mains, though my second choice is switch axe and his is hunting horn.
17 years and still have the worst animation times ever. With a fucking dragon beating you, blowing firestreams and you're being stunned for 5 sec. Drinking a potion/antidote>6 sec meanwhile the same dragon beating your ass up more than before

I was introduced to monster hunter through generations. Playing that game made me feel insanely happy because it was a game I could enjoy forever unlike every other game I had at that point
